Program FAQ's
The problem solver program focuses on finding short term solutions to fix behaviour challenges. The skill builder program focuses on building social emotional and self-regulation skills that children and adults can utilize on an ongoing basis to develop resiliency. Problem solving is reactionary and skill building is a proactive approach to parenting.
The skill builder program focuses on developing specific skills sets related to social emotional awareness and self-regulation. The skill builder + curriculum program provides an opportunity to learn skills related to social emotional awareness and self-regulation but also extends the learning with meaningful academic and age appropriate extensions. This program focusses on providing a space to engage children in a learning environment that also develops secondary skills like: language acquisition, reading, writing, scientific inquiry, social science benchmarks, etc. The Ontario Ministry of Education documents may be used as guide or point of reference.
Yes and no! If you have a group of 2-4 parents with children in the same age range you can start a group. Alternatively, as I get inquiries for group sessions I can organize a group by age range. This option may involve a waiting period depending on interest and availability.
Yes, if your child is between the ages of 3-7! Part of the learning that happens during group video-conferencing sessions is for the parent/caregiver. You will have the opportunity to see and hear how to read books, how to ask questions and extend learning on topics. You will not actively participate in the sessions, but an adult is expected to be present. If your child is older then six or seven, you are still expected to oversee your child’s participation.

The coaching and consulting relationship is a professional relationship. A successful consultant/client relationship relies on a collaborative relationship. It is the responsibility of the consultant to facilitate and help clients develop their skills and abilities by providing feedback and offering educational opportunities for learning and growing.
In my role as consultant and coach, my advice and recommendations encourage behavioural change through lifestyle changes, problem solving skill development, education, and reflective practices. The programs and advice I offer are not intended to replace the advice or guidance of medical or mental health experts and should not be considered therapy. Medical and mental health experts are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of emotional and psychological problems and have therapeutic designations. As a parent consultant and coach I am not a mediator, therapist or crisis intervention responder.
- Be honest with yourself and with me.

- Take ownership and responsibility for your progress and accomplishments.
It is the responsibility of the client to determine how much change they are willing and able to make. All plans, lessons, extensions and frameworks provided are the responsibility of the client to implement. If the client has concerns about the consultant relationship, it is their responsibility to discuss these with the consultant. Consulting does not offer any guarantees of success or definitive behaviour changes of your child or family.
